The Tale of Kieu officially set the World Record
(Record.vn) At 9:00 AM on December 2nd 2015, World Records Union ofiicially sent the document to confirm the new world records for the literary work “The Tale of Kieu” of the great poet Nguyen Du, according to this document, “The Tale of Kieu” officially become the “Literary Work that create most national records”
This record was nominated successfully by the Vietnam Book of Record during the past time and was recognized by World Record Union in the 250th birthday of the Great Poet Nguyen Du and the glory day for the World Cultural Celebrity Nguyen Du held in all over the world.
According to that, the World Records Union assessed as below:
"The Tale of Kieu written by Nguyen Du (1765-1820) with 3254 verses written in six-eight meters is a literary masterpiece. This literary work has gained the generations of the readers in over the past 200 years. This literary work was translated into over 20 different languages in the world such as French, English, Russian…etc with more than 35 versions. We can see that the Tale of Kieu has surpassed the national border and come to the readers in all over the world. With The Tale of Kieu, the Great Poet Nguyen Du was titled as the World Cultural Celebrity.”
Although we haven’t really understand all of the great content and artistic that reflected by the author Nguyen Du through The Tale of Kieu, but through the research of 27 Vietnam Records (and this number is not stopped yet) that are recognised by VIETKINGS since 2005 until now, it shows the great effect of the work to all of the cultural fields in Vietnam. The number of 27 records is an impressive number that there is not any literature art can reach until now in the world. These records are shown in diversified ways such as books, magazines, translation, sculptures, silk pictures, calligraphies, stages… all are contributed to glory the cultural specific trait that the “Tale of Kieu” has brough to the cultural and spiritual life of the people in Vietnam.
With the values above, World Records Union officially recognised the world record for The Tale of Kieu as the “The Literary Work having most national records in the world” and congratulate to Vietnam Book of Records and the Management Board of Nguyen Du Vestige Area in Ha Tinh - the owners of the World Record conferred by World Records Union.

This record is expected to be awarded in the 31st Record Holders Meeting (March/2016) held in Vietnam.
