Phong Nha – Ke bang National Park : “ The Kingdom of the caves”

Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park has an area of 123.326 ha. It is a part of the oldest major karst area in Asia which was formed over 400 million years ago.

Phong Nha – Ke Bang is called “The Kingdom of the caves” with over 1000 large and small caves, including Son Doong cave – the largest cave in the world. Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park was recognized as World Natural Heritage in July 2003 by UNESSCO with its values of gelogy and geomorphology . 

Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park is also the house to 829 species of rare animals, such as: Ha Tinh langur primate, Pygathrix… making up 50% of all primate species in Vietnam. This is also existing house of the 2.651 tracheophyta species…Especially, Calocedrus rupestris, which has existed for 500 years, has an area of 5 000 ha. It is considered as a global value in conservation. Additionally, Phong Nha – Ke Bang contains the cultural, historical values.

With unique values,  Phong Nha – Ke Bang is a tourist destination which attracts the domestic and international tourists  with many well-known destinations such as Phong Nha -Tien Son Cave like “Wonder Twins of Creation”, Nuoc Mooc Stream, 8 Co Cave, En Cave, Thuy Cung Cave - Sinh Ton Valley, Son Doong Cave, Phong Nha Cave – discovering the depth of mystery.

Especially, Chay River – Toi Cave is a wonderful destination for people like strong feeling. Tourists can try the zipline service and adventure games in water, discover the caves by caving equipments, use kayak for moving across water and enjoy the local dishes in Dark Cave Restaurant at Chay riverbank.

In addition to these destinations, there are many famous hotels and restaurants. At the centre of Phong Nha, Son Doong, which is the largest restaurant with morden equipments, can contain 800 people. Nuoc Mooc Stream is a suitable place if tourists want to enjoy their meal  in a nature setting.
