(Records.vn) Hong An Pagoda (also called Green Pagoda) is located in Nho Quan Town, Nho Quan District, Ninh Binh Province, Vietnam

The pagoda is hundreds of years old with many vicissitudes of its history. Throughout more than 400 years of its history, Hong An Pagoda is an ideal place to nurture the revolutionary officers in wartime, is the spiritual refuge of  Buddhist community and local people .

Vietnamese stone mortar is the familiar agricultural tool which are associated with Vietnam Wet Rice Civilization. With love and passion for Vietnamese Stone Mortars Collection,  Ven.Thich Duc Loi – Mastermonk of Hong An pagoda desires to build a Agricultural Tools Museum. With the support of Buddhist, Hong An pagoda has owned 1000 stone mortars with many different kinds after 10 years.  In the future, the stone mortars will be used to build a pyramid model with the Relics of the Buddha Stupa on its top.

At 10:30 am on December 15th, 2014, Vietnam Book of Records conferred Vietnam Record Certificate “The Pagoda owns the most number of Vietnamese Stone Mortars in Vietnam” on Ven. Thich Duc Loi.

The Pagoda has over 1000  Vietnamese Stone Mortars A 287-year-old carambola tree and a 326-year-old Sop (Ficus pisocarpa Blume) tree in the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap have been recognised as national heritage trees. Certificates of the recognition were handed over to local authorities by the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment (VACNE) at a ceremony held in the locality on December 18.
